C.S. Lewis
Malacandra is a Wiki-style encyclopedia, dedicated to the works and ideas of C.S. Lewis. Lewis was a Christian academic, philosopher, apologist, and author. In his lifetime, he was best known for his apologetics writings and regular radio broadcasts on BBC Radio. Today, he is probably best known as the author of the children's novels, The Chronicles of Narnia. (The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, The Silver Chair, The Horse and His Boy, The Magician's Nephew, and The Last Battle). Perhaps less well know, but even more loved by this article's writer, is his Cosmic Trilogy (Out of the Silent Planet, Perelandra and That Hideous Strength). Out of the Silent Planet is about a journey to the planet Mars, which the local inhabitants of the planet refer to as Malacandra - hence the name of this Wiki.

Please Contribute

If you love C.S. Lewis's writings, you are invited to contribute to this Wiki. So that every article is "signed", I would simply ask that you create a free account first, and then log in. You will then find that you can create pages. To create a page, use the search engine to see if it already exists. If it does not, then you will find that you are invited to create it.

If you have never used the special, easy-to-learn markup code that Wikis like this require, then please refer to the article on Wikipedia about creating and editing pages. You will find that page by clicking on this link: Help in Creating Wiki Pages.

You will also find that every page, whether you have created or someone else has, will have a discussion page. Please use that discussion page to raise questions, if, for example, you object to something within that page. Please do not engage in "acts of wiki vandalism"! Please "sign" discussion comments by adding four tildes at the end of your comment, thus: ~~~~. This causes your user signature to be added. For example, when I type ~~~~, it will appear as Pftaylor61 (talk) 11:43, 14 April 2018 (PDT).

In particular, please note that those (and they do exist) who want to add articles claiming that Lewis was evil, unsaved, or that Christians should not interact with his works - your contributions will not be welcome here. The software to produce this site is free - go ahead and make your own Wiki criticising him; you have every right to do so, but not here.

Most especially, please enjoy being here and contributing to this encyclopedia about C.S. Lewis.

Several of the articles listed above have been created as stubs. This was just so that the page existed, but it clearly needs lots of content adding. Please feel free to do that - I have not reserved them for me to add content to! When you have added content, please remove the {{Stub}} tag. If, on the other hand, you wish to create a stub article, please feel free to do that too. In that case, please add the {{Stub}} tag at the bottom of the article.
